Things I’d tell my Younger Self

Since I’m about to graduate from university, I’ve started to wonder whether there are things I would do differently if I could go back in time, and truth is, I don’t think so. There are, however, some pieces of advice I’d like to have known before.

Studying is not everything.

Go to that party. You’ll end up watching series instead of reading your notes anyway.

Never get a new hair cut from a hairdresser you’ve never been to before.

Learn from a person who looked like a 13-year-old boy whose mom wanted to try out something new.

Don’t you dare leaving the house with your eyeliner smudged all around your face.

You look like a panda, but not in a cute way.

Believe in yourself.

Just do it.

It’s okay if you don’t get along with everyone.

People are different (Thank god!), they have different opinions and tempers. Just stop trying to be friends with someone who obviously does not want your friendship.

No, that drunk guy over there is not the love of your life.

The other one neither. And don’t even think about the guy who stubbed out a cigarette on your arm. He is not edgy, he’s a jerk.

Some people will disappear from your life.

Especially if you and the people you know move to different places. You will stay in contact with your closest friends, but some will probably become a nice memory wishing you a happy birthday on Facebook.

And lastly:

Stop worrying.

Seriously, everything is going to be okay – even if it does not seem like it at the moment.
